This full day workshop will be held at the QPWS run David Fleay Wildlife Park in West Burleigh on Queensland's Gold Coast. With special in-enclosure access you'll have the ability to photograph some of the animals on site without being concerned about fences, wire or glass obscuring your shots.

You'll have the opportunity to photograph owls and raptors in flight at one of three daily bird displays.

A special indoor session will involve natural setting displays to photograph mammals, birds and reptiles using a variety of supplied lighting systems. We will have strobes fitted with soft boxes and multiple LED light panels on hand to help provide an amazing photography experience.

Dedicated park rangers will be on-hand assisting to set-up displays and position the wildlife to help you attain the perfect shot.

We'll also visit the nocturnal house to photograph, the endangered Bilby as well as the Spinifex Hopping-mouse

Many of the species you will photograph are very difficult to find in the wild such as the Lumholtz's Tree-kangaroo and Bridled Nail-tailed Wallaby.

Time permitting, we may go for a stroll through the eucalyptus forest which is surrounded by a predator proof fence. Wallabies, pademelons, echidnas, koalas and other wildlife enjoy a safe environment.

Mark will be on hand to give professional photographic tuition throughout the workshop.

In 1951, Australian naturalist, David Fleay, created a wildlife park where visitors could enjoy and learn about wildlife in as close to their natural environment as possible. Today you can enjoy daily wildlife ranger talks and see Australia’s iconic wildlife, from the comfort and safety of boardwalks, education rooms and in a nocturnal house.
Dr David Fleay has inspired many people to embrace the diversity of our natural environment and its protection. The environmental education and conservation role of the park is just one of his many legacies.
